It’s National School Lunch Week, and to mark the occasion Greenwood hosted more than 150 parents for lunch. The menu included chili with “homegrown” black beans; cupcakes made with aronia berries; corn muffins and cherry tomatoes; and zucchini from the Wallace Center. Iowa icon Henry A. Wallace, who once lived down the street from Greenwood, started the school lunch program when he was Secretary of Agriculture. Click the headline to read and see more.
Our annual Fall Breakfast Buddies and Book Fair event is rapidly approaching. Please join us for breakfast on November 22 for pancakes provided by Chriss Cakes. The cost is $5 per person and the money is due on November 18th. The Book Fair will run November 18th-22nd.
Students, staff, and parents take over the sidewalks on 37th Street for the Iowa Healthiest State Walk on Wednesday, October 5th. The walkers enjoyed the beautiful scenery and cool weather.
Greenwood students celebrated their positive behavior in September with relay races organized by the 3rd grade teachers. We have a monthly assembly as part of our positive behavior program. Assembly activities vary from month to month.
