Greenwood hosted their first crayon collection in support of “Love Where You Live” month by collecting unwanted, broken or damaged crayons. They were recycled into new crayons!
Thank you to everyone that participated in the Spelling Challenge. We raised over $15,000 this year. Mrs. Pilcher’s second grade class won the contest and covered Mr . Huinker in Silly String. Thank you again to everyone that helped raise money.
Greenwood is kicking off our first ever Adopt a Graphic Promotion featuring Woody the Woodchuck to celebrate our newly painted walls. Greenwood students are shown at the Iowa Capitol waiting for the start of Governor’s Branstad’s Condition of the State address. The Governor invited the students and introduced them during his speech after he visited Greenwood last month to unveil a new STEM initiative.
Governor Terry Branstad stopped by Greenwood Elementary School today to launch a new public awareness campaign by his STEM Advisory Council.
