This will be my 20th year with DMPS, my 16th year at Greenwood teaching third grade. My first four years in the district, I taught kindergarten at Edmunds. My very first year of teaching was in a small farm town in the middle of California teaching in a kindergarten/first grade combination classroom.
I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and my masters from Viterbo University. I have 3 children: Olivia, freshman at Valley Southwoods, and twin boys Devan and Damon, 4th grade at Clive Elementary. My husband Cory is a fitness trainer at Fitness World West. In my spare time, Cory and I are busy attending our children’s sporting, school, and church events, going to Iowa Hawkeye football games, and just hanging out together with our families.
My name is Jill Roehrick. I graduated from Grand View College in 2001 with a K-8 Elementary Education degree and endorsements in Reading and English/Language Arts. I am finishing my master’s degree in Elementary Leadership through Iowa State, although I am passionate about all University of Iowa athletics. Go Hawks!!
My roots are in this neighborhood, and I attended Hubbell, Callanan and Roosevelt schools. I have been married for 28 years to my husband, John, who is a firefighter. We have two grown sons, Joshua, 27, and Jeremy, 22. Joshua is a pharmacist and married to Cally, who is an oncology nurse. Jeremy is a senior at Iowa State University, studying physical therapy. In my free time, I love to read, cook and spend quality time with family and friends.
