Hello! My name is Anna and I have been teaching for DMPS since 2015. I previously taught at Edmunds Elementary before coming to Greenwood in 2022. I live in Des Moines with my husband and son. I love spending time with my family and friends, doing yoga, and traveling. I also enjoy checking out local DSM places especially Northern Vessel, Lucky Lotus, and Lua. Last, but not least, Go Cyclones!

My name is Ryan Burke. I have been at Greenwood since 2014. I currently teach 5th grade, but have also taught 3rd, 4th, and Math Intervention. My favorite things about Greenwood are the community and the amazing staff.

My name is Elisha Crow. While this will be my first year at Greenwood, I have been teaching in Des Moines since 2012. I graduated from Wartburg College with an Elementary Education degree and an endorsement in Early Childhood. I received my masters from Drake in 2019 in Culturally Responsive Leadership and Instruction and a reading endorsement. My husband and I recently welcomed our first child, a girl, who was born in April 2023. In my free time you will find me hanging out with my family, going on runs, and being outside with our dog Belle, who is an 11- year-old Belgian Malinois.

I have been with DMPS since 2006. I have my BA from UNI and my Master’s degree from Morningside College. I have taught special education, kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 4th grade all here at Greenwood. I enjoy spending time with my mini Goldendoodle, Rosie.

Hello! My name is Kate Hargrafen. I am a proud graduate of Wartburg College and a former member of the Wartburg Choir. I spent 10 years teaching for West Des Moines Schools before I joined DMPS and Greenwood in 2018. I live in Grimes with my husband and two sons. I enjoy coaching volleyball outside of my time at school. I love teaching at Greenwood!

I have my Elementary Education degree with Early Childhood endorsement. I spent 14 years running a daycare, 3 years teaching Pre-K, and 1 year as the building substitute here at Greenwood. I am the mom of 6 boys who all attended Greenwood. I love being outside, gardening, hiking, and watching my boys compete in cross country, track, and baseball. Go Riders!

I have been teaching since 2006 and at Greenwood since 2016. I have my BA from Upper Iowa University and my Master’s in Administration from William Woods University. I have 3 grown children who all live out of state. My husband, Adam, and I are active in our church and we foster dogs as well as having 2 of our own.

I have been teaching since 1999 and here at Greenwood since 2003. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education & Early Childhood Development from the University of Iowa. I earned my Master’s Degree in Reading from Viterbo University. I enjoy spending time with my 3 children, all boys, and my husband. You can find us most weekends out on the golf course!

Hello! My name is Lauren Kluver. I graduated from Central College and received my Master’s from Morningside College. I started teaching at Greenwood in 2013. My husband, Tyler, is a personal trainer and we have a beautiful daughter named Kinley. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching volleyball, and traveling.

I have been teaching for DMPS since 1999. I received my degree in Early Childhood Education from Iowa State University and my Master’s from Viterbo. I have 3 children, Olivia, Devan, and Damon. My husband, Cory, is a fitness trainer. When I am not at school, I like to spend time with family, golf, and go to ISU and Iowa games.

Welcome to Greenwood Elementary. My name is Kathleen Leopold and I have been teaching since 2002. I have taught birth through 3rd grade and I am excited to return to a preschool classroom. I have two adult children who are both married. I also have three grandkids. I am passionate about yoga, the gym, travel, and continuous learning. I have an early childhood degree with special education from Iowa State. My Master’s degree is in teacher leadership from Drake University. I completed my Educational Specialist Degree in Cultural Responsive Leadership from Drake in 2023.

I graduated from Grandview University with a degree in Fine Arts and Arts Education. I started my teaching career at Des Moines Public Schools in 2011. I’ve worked at King and Moulton, and have been at Greenwood since 2021. I love painting, cooking, and spending time with family.

My name is Amanda Moore. I have been teaching in Des Moines Public Schools since 2003. I graduated from Iowa State University and received my Master’s in ELL from Buena Vista. I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 children.

I have been teaching since 1989 and have been here at Greenwood since 2003. I received my BA from the University of Iowa and my Master’s from Morningside College. I have 4 grown children and 8 grandchildren, all of whom live in the area. I enjoy being outside, camping, and spending time with my family.

I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education from UNI where I played football. My wife is an interior designer and we have a dog, Koda, and a cat, Tito. I am a volunteer football coach at Valley High School. In my free time I like to golf, go bowling, and go to events downtown.

My name is Molly Petersen. I have been teaching at Greenwood since 1999. I have always taught first grade. I graduated from the University of Iowa and received my Master’s Degree in ELL from Buena Vista. I enjoy spending time with my family and visiting my daughter in Florida.
