Hello! My name is Tamma Howe and I am happy to introduce myself as the school counselor at Greenwood. I received my teaching degree from the University of Northern Iowa. While teaching in Ames, I earned my Masters degree in School Counseling at Iowa State University. I have been the school counselor at Greenwood since 2011. Greenwood is a special place because it is full of special people! Please feel free to contact me if you need any assistance.
I knew I was destined to be an educator from my time playing school as an elementary student in the 80’s and 90’s, forcing my sisters to be my students and taking home all of the extra worksheets my teachers. I started my career in DMPS in 2006 as a 1st grade teacher at Brubaker Elementary School where I taught for seven years, my last four as a 3rd grade teacher. In 2014, I became an Instructional Coach at Garton Elementary. I also worked as a district Instructional Technology Coordinator from 2015-2017, during which time I realized I missed working directly with teachers and students, so I went back to school to study Administration. In 2017, I became the Dean of Students/Associate Principal at Garton Elementary, where I served until my promotion to Principal at Greenwood in 2021. I absolutely love everything about the staff, students, and families of Greenwood and feel so grateful to get to serve the community in my position.
I have a Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State in Education, a Master’s Degree from Viterbo in Education, and a Master’s Degree from Drake University in Educational Administration. I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and our Miniature Australian Shepherd. We enjoy traveling, going to concerts, and spending time outdoors.
Hello! My name is Kelly Moeller and I am the office manager here at Greenwood. I have a BA in Human Services from Upper Iowa University. I started working at Greenwood in 2001 where I worked for the Metro Kids afterschool program. In the fall of 2022, I switched over from Metro Kids to being the office manager. Greenwood is a very special place because of the staff and students. In my time away from work I like to spend time with family and friends, snuggle my sweet dogs, Coco and Tonks, drink coffee, and read.
I have been a pediatric nurse since 1991. I received my bachelor’s degree in nursing from Catholic University in Washington, DC. While working at Children’s National Medical Center in DC, I earned my master’s degree and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification in 1997. I have had the privilege of caring for kids in a variety of settings – the hospital, pediatric offices, and in school health offices. My favorite role so far is school nursing! I love school nursing and being a part of the Greenwood community. When I’m not at Greenwood I enjoy reading; gardening; quilting; spending time with family and friends; and dreaming about the beaches of Cape Cod!
I have been a SUCCESS Case Manager with DMPS since 2018, and have been at Greenwood since 2020. I love building relationships with students and families, and Greenwood is such a great community! In my free time, I enjoy biking, camping, hiking, and hanging out with my two teenage boys and our dog.
My name is Jen Walker and I am the Community Schools Coordinator. I split my time serving families from both Greenwood and Hubbell Elementary. I enjoy my relationships with students and families and working both in the building and the community. My husband, Will, and I have 4 children. In my free time you can find me in the gym cheering on my kids. Families can reach out to me by email or by calling or texting the number above.
