Hello! I am Mrs. Cox. I received my teaching degree from Morningside College and then continued my learning at ULAR and UNI. I taught in Waterloo, IA from 1999-2014 and then moved to Des Moines and have been happily working at DMPS since. I played 4 years of basketball while at Morningside and now have a passion for wellness. I got married on August 5th, 2023 and gained 5 bonus daughters!
My name is Rachel Garnaas and I am thrilled to be joining the staff at Greenwood this year! This will be my 13th year teaching in DMPS. I have previously taught at Walnut Street School, Pleasant Hill Elementary and South Union Elementary. While not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Luke. We have two daughters, Mara and Ava. I like to spend time outside, cooking, reading, exercising and traveling.
Hello! My name is Lauren Kluver. I graduated from Central College and received my Master’s from Morningside College. I started teaching at Greenwood in 2013. My husband, Tyler, is a personal trainer and we have a beautiful daughter named Kinley. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching volleyball, and traveling.

My name is Brenda Wise. I graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I have a Masters of Science in Special Education through Drake University. I also have an endorsement in reading. I started teaching in the district in 1986 at Orchard Place. After that, I taught at Watrous now Morris), Woodlawn , and Samuelson. I came to Greenwood in 2023. I am enjoying working with the great staff and students of the Greenwood community, it has refreshed my love of teaching!
