Hello! My name is Mrs. Garland. I graduated from Iowa State University and got my master’s degree from Drake. I have been with DMPS since 2012. I was born and raised in Des Moines and graduated from Lincoln High School. I currently live in Des Moines with my husband and son. I love all things fitness, movement, and physical activity! I feel honored to be able to teach physical education at Greenwood Elementary.
Hello! My name is Kate Hargrafen. I am a proud graduate of Wartburg College and a former member of the Wartburg Choir. I spent 10 years teaching for West Des Moines Schools before I joined DMPS and Greenwood in 2018. I live in Grimes with my husband and two sons. I enjoy coaching volleyball outside of my time at school. I love teaching at Greenwood!
I graduated from Grandview University with a degree in Fine Arts and Arts Education. I started my teaching career at Des Moines Public Schools in 2011. I’ve worked at King and Moulton, and have been at Greenwood since 2021. I love painting, cooking, and spending time with family.
