My name is Ryan Burke. I have been at Greenwood since 2014. I currently teach 5th grade, but have also taught 3rd, 4th, and Math Intervention. My favorite things about Greenwood are the community and the amazing staff.

I got my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1990 (Go Bears!) and a master’s degree in early childhood education from Mills College in 1994. I am also a National Board Certified teacher. I taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5^th grades in California, and I’ve been teaching in Iowa for 7 years. I have two adult sons who live in Seattle and Honolulu. In my free time, I spend time with my parents and sister, do crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, and read. I feel lucky to be here at Greenwood Elementary!
