Lt. Gov. Checks Out Greenwood Coders

Greenwood Elementary School’s coding club demonstrated the value of computer science during a press conference today with Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds and Iowa Department of Education Director Ryan Wise, who spoke about legislation recently signed to encourage computer science education. The star of the press conference, however, was Greenwood’s coding club, a group of more than 75 students who meet after school to work on technology projects. Parents “Do Lunch” at Greenwood School

It’s National School Lunch Week, and to mark the occasion Greenwood hosted more than 150 parents for lunch. The menu included chili with “homegrown” black beans; cupcakes made with aronia berries; corn muffins and cherry tomatoes; and zucchini from the Wallace Center. Iowa icon Henry A. Iowa Healthiest State Walk

Students, staff, and parents take over the sidewalks on 37th Street for the Iowa Healthiest State Walk on Wednesday, October 5th. The walkers enjoyed the beautiful scenery and cool weather.

1st PBIS Celebration of 2016-2017

Greenwood students celebrated their positive behavior in September with relay races organized by the 3rd grade teachers.  We have a monthly assembly as part of our positive behavior program.  Assembly activities vary from month to month.

High Tech Meets Visitor Sign-In at Greenwood

At DMPS, we work to ensure that students are receiving a great education in schools that are not only first-rate learning environments, but are also safe and secure. Over the years DMPS has taken many steps to better ensure the safety and well being of our students, staff, parents and visitors.
